Did this film deserve to win Best Picture? No, there were better films released in 1985. However, it is still a beautifully made film and one you just don't see being made anymore. Why do people dislike this movies?
shareBecause there was no extreme violence, sex, profanity, and special effects. The current movie going audience cant understand or appreciate good story telling and beautiful scenery.
shareOh, there were special effects, some pretty bad special effects. The scene in the beginning with Streep and Brandauer in the snow looks like something out of a Hitchcock movie and I don't mean is as a compliment.
The film itself is good enough, not very engaging but nothing really wrong with it either.
