Incredible sexual tension between Russo and Murphy

Fifteen minutes into the movie they're at the bar and Axel asks why he didn't give him up when arrested. "Because I love you, man," he says.

Murphy looks absolutely beautiful here. A young man being loved by another man. Totally sweet.

I had a ( African American gay) friend who has always said that Murphy is gay - like GAY gay. I never saw it and was surprised to hear it but figured maybe he knew something I didn't because he was in a different demography than I.

It wasn't a gay moment (but hey.. go ahead if you want to think that).

murphy had a friend whom despite being a hoodlum, he was still loyal and caring enough to not want to rant out on his friend.

It's just real friendship at it's rarest (ie friends who'd do anything for another friend).

He did miss the obvious come on attempt from Jenny who was spread eagle on his hotel bed and decided to go downstairs to talk to a gay man and grab his banana and stick it in the rearend of the other guys car instead.

In the director commentary Brest said they had to cut a few seconds from the hold on Murphy and Russo's glance cuz the sneak preview audience felt it was awkward.

They're best friends for Pete's sake. They been friends since they were kids. When you have that kind of connection, your buddy is like your brother. That's a brotherly love there man.

Wasn’t Murphy later caught with a tranny in the 90s? From what I hear, Hollywood types are into anything and everything.

As far as the scene you’re talking about, I think it’s fair that they know how much they really mean to each other as friends, and the line and looks they exchange say it all without making it mushy or gay.
