More than 1 version of this movie?

I saw this movie as a pre-teen and thought I remembered a longer funeral for Gandhi than what I actually saw tonight on TCM. Tonight's version went from him being shot to the pyre to spreading his ashes on the water. I really thought I remembered a funeral procession where flower petals were thrown on his body.
