Hello Fellow Movie Fans,

I can't believe everyone is ragging on poor Ann Baxter. I thought she was the most beautiful she's ever looked, and her acting was very compelling.

The one I thought was mis-cast was Vincent Price ! I could not believe him as a Playboy chasing the pretty Slave Girls, because he sounds and acts so gay ! I am a Fan of his for his Horror films, especially House of Wax, and the Dr Phibes films, so I was looking forward to seeing him in this....but come on ! I cringe at his " S " sounds.

I didn't have a problem with Vincent in this.

But I'm not a big horror fan and can't recall ever seeing a complete movie he was in. To be honest, as a kid, I only knew him as Egghead on TV's Batman. Maybe if I had seen him in other things his casting might bother me more.

If you enjoyed him as the comedic Egghead, you probably would get a kick out of his portrayal of " The Abominable Dr Phibes " ! I don't know if he was intentionally supposed to be funny, but he WAS !

LOL, haven't seen it. There have been some movies so bad that in retrospect they seem like intentional camp.

I like Price in general, and I like him in this film!

He's the character who represents me, who I identify with, the snarky bitch who can barely keep from laughing at the ridiculousness of it all! Seriously, someone had to bring a touch of deliberate camp, to this festival of unintentional camp, so IMHO including him was absolutely necessary.

LOL ! I understand, Otter ! I'm glad his portrayal resonated with someone. But you don't sound " snarky " to me, you sound very nice. Enjoy all your Movie Viewing !

As a member of the wealthy Egyptian upper class, he may have been perfumed and pampered and and acted effeminate, but that doesn't necessarily mean he didn't like women.

He married 3 times so he must had gone both ways.
