why was Danielle Foussard giving John Robie a hard time in the boat ride

When I first saw the film and before I knew that Danielle Foussard would be caught on the roof by John Robie the boat ride made sense, But know that I know she is the cat burglar all the things she says to him seem hippocritical. and what John Robie said on the roof made me think why did he take all that from her why didn't he say to her on the boat what he said to her on the roof when he caught her. About her working for her father. Doing cat burgling jobs for her father.

I see there is no spell check so all you english majors who made straight A's in english from 1st grade to the 12th will have to bare with me.

Because she was in love with him and wanted him to run off to South America with her, but he didn't want to.

I wasn't an English major either; however, spelling isn't rocket science.
