A brand new restored 70mm Todd-AO print in 6 Track Stereo is being screened at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA, on Saturday, August 23rd at 1:30pm, and Sunday, August 24th at 1:15pm. Not much more information can be found on the website aft.com/silver.

Based on what's currently appearing on the AFI Silver website (http://www.afi.com/silver/films/2014/p67/70mm_spectacular_part3.aspx#o klah), supplemented by information from other websites, the showing will be not of a 70mm print, but rather of a new and quite painstaking 4K DCP restoration from the badly deteriorated 65mm (not 70mm, as the AFI erroneously says) negative. And since that 65mm negative was made at the original Todd-AO frame rate of 30 frames per second (fps), the DCP is at that frame rate as well, which at least some digital projection systems can handle.
Oklahoma! is one of the very few films that were made and released in both a 70mm 30-fps six-track-stereo version and a 35mm CinemaScope 24-fps four-track-stereo version, with most of the shots being done separately for each format, leading to differences between the two versions that according to some viewers actually rise to the level of being esthetic differences.
Well, whatever they used, it was SPECTACULAR. I have never seen this movie look this good before. Or sound as good as it does. WOW.
