How old are you and where did you hear of this?

I am 24 now and rented this movie from the library around 3 years ago and really enjoyed it. It's just as relevant today as it was in 1951.

22, big fan of noir and anything starring Kirk Douglas or directed by Billy Wilder is always worth a watch.

I'm just two years younger than this film (63) and first heard of and saw it around 1968, when it was still being shown under its studio-imposed re-title, The Big Carnival. Been a fan ever since. Wilder is my favorite Hollywood writer and one of my top two or three directors and not only is this my favorite of his films (I think his best-written), it was also his personal favorite. Yep, it is indeed just as timely today as in 1951...more so, because most people didn't like it in '51. It took later generations (beginning with mine!) to appreciate it.

I'm 44 and blind-bought the Criterion release 5-6 years ago. It immediately took up permanent residence in my personal top ten. Considering my favorite movie is Network, I guess that makes sense. Something about the "dark underbelly of the media" must appeal to me.

BTW, if you haven't seen Network, track it down as soon as possible. Best script ever written.

I'm nineteen and just did a rewatch today. Probably watched it for the first time my sophomore or junior year of high school. Really liked it the first time around, and the second time I liked it even more. Very exciting and suspenseful.
