Prisons of the 40's and 50's were so tame

The Jail scene where all the prisoners are in the lunch area and the little fat guy pretended to go nuts cracked me up. The cops are all like Barney Fife's who fall down with one punch (even badly acted pulled punches lol).

It seems like back then all prisoners were middle aged fat white men. It sure is a lot different than today with gang members, integration, guys who work out like maniacs in jail etc.. Jail back then would have been a walk in the park.
