Vera Ellen...y u no like to look at Gene Kelly?

Okay but seriously, everytime I watch this movie I find myself distracted by the fact that VERA ELLEN HATES TO LOOK PEOPLE IN THE EYE, especially Gene Kelly. She delivers her lines to him, while looking in the opposite direction half the time. Lady, he's not that offensive to look at.

aside from that, I love this film 😍

I just assumed she didn't look at him because she was lying and it gave her an air of importance.

She was looking at him directly as they were sipping champagne in the nightclub.
