Considering that the Verlocs were supposedly just getting by, it's amazing how frequently a really huge roast was prepared for dinner for 3 people. Verloc went to the aquarium on Thursday and the movie ends on Saturday evening and they are shown having a huge roast twice during the movie.

Good point. I watched this picture today and was thinking the same thing! Perhaps roasts (and housekeepers who can't keep cabbage green) were much cheaper in 1936.
