This woman has recently gotten sick, and disclosed her diagnosis publicly.

Holy shit, I cannot believe the number of cretins commenting that someone is killing her, her husband is a murderer, her father is a licantrope, the royals are aliens, the covid vaccine is mutating, it's the AI, the US, Santa Clause or the fucking Easter Bunny (suspect number one since we are 1 week away anyway).

What the fuck is wrong with your rotten brains?

Agreed.

My only criticism would be that she should have disclosed her condition a lot sooner rather than leaving everything up the air, allowing the conspiracy theories to multiply and potentially cause upset to her children.

She should have nipped the whole thing in the bud a lot sooner...

Heheh.. we are now past the point in evolution where our innate instincts have long since stopped serving humanity. A huge percentage of humans can no longer trust their eyes, ears, or intuition on anything without turning to a huge conspiracy as the explanation to everything they see or hear.

In other words, the same loony conspiracies would exist if the royals announced her illness on the way home from the first doctor visit.

Maybe. But then there hasn't really been the same level of hysteria with Prince Charles. They announced he was being treated and he's made a few (I think?) appearances since but that's been about it. Nothing too invasive or speculative.

The trouble with Kate was the only announcement made was that she'd had routine surgery (specifically saying not cancerous) and that she'd likely return to duties after Easter. The fact that she hadn't been seen at all, followed by the faked photo, lookalikes at that farm shop, etc just leads to the current position were people are even questioning whether a video recording is real...

I don't get all this aggression against this woman, by all accounts she is a rather pleasant female to be around, and has handled the title of royalty with the dignity and class this position traditionally commands.

I've never detected any pretentiousness or entitlement from Princess Kate. She and William have handled their status with respect IMHO, especially when you compare it to the bratty Harry and Meghan.

I'm just saying, Princess Kate has really not done anything to deserve this vitriol I see. She seems a fine upstanding family woman.

I agree with the OP. People are either trying to be cavalier and faux-hardened by showing the exact opposite of compassion for the royals. Or, they have these ridiculous, naive and childish conspiracy theories. It makes me shake my head.
For those who are feeling all chest-puffy with their hard words about not caring one way or another about this woman....just wait until cancer hits closer to home. It will, and maybe your perspective will change. And for those with the silly conspiracy theories...try to get outside and get a little sun.

For those who simply hold their tongue, or show a little compassion and respect, kudos to you. You're a dwindling but admirable lot.

Unless you address the specific person you're replying to, in your reply, it can be ambiguous...and even perceived that your reply, direcly following someone's post, is a reply to them. Happens all the time. Not worth arguing about. Ironically, I was agreeing with you.
