You're right! I looked Cronkite up, and he had just turned forty-seven. Wow, I thought he was in his sixties. But I still can't imagine Pine being convincing in the role. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.

Yes, acting and makeup can fix some things, but it doesn't always work. Did you see Kevin Spacey as Bobby Darin in "Beyond the Sea"? He did a creditable job imitating Darin's singing, but he was so un-Darinlike otherwise, including appearance and age, that it wasn't convincing at all.
