How will Russian election interference play out in 2020?

This is the declassified version of the classified report on Russian meddling in the 2016 US election by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

https://www.dni.gov/files/documents/ICA_2017_01.pdf

The report summarises what they did and why: tilt the scales in Trump’s favour to benefit Russia.

Part of the problem with Clinton is that she and Bill already had a ton of scandal that got mixed in with the fake news. They probably won’t have that next time around.

Something I found hilariously pathetic was how the Podesta email hack was pulled off with a garden variety phishing email posing as gmail. Podesta, being too important to deal with it, forwarded it to his assistant who typo’d back: “this is legitimate” when it should have read “illegitimate.” Hard UGH. LOL. So he handed the Russian hackers his new password and every personal email in that account.

This is all pretty old news, but yeah.

I know it’s old but the question remains.

What concerns me most is the revelation in Mueller's report and confirmed by Marco Rubio that the Russians did successfully hack the elections system of a county in Florida in 2016.

In other words, beyond just the fake news and troll farms, which we already know was highly targeted through Cambridge Analytica's Facebook campaign, they also may have materially affected the outcome by changing votes. They could have easily done this by just removing voters from voter rolls if the county in question is Miami/Dade since that's where all the Dem votes are going to come from in Florida. There were anecdotally a lot of reports of registered voters in Miami showing up to vote and being turned away because they weren't in the rolls. But we'll never know for sure because Trump has refused to confront the issue and clearly wants them to interfere again in 2020.

He needs to win to stay out of jail by hook or by crook.

The Dade Co. hack was for the general election?

This is concerning.

Here’s an article on it if anyone is interested.
