what movie put him on the map?

anyone?

I'd have to say it was The Object of My Affection (1998).

you know it's really interesting you said that movie because a few days ago it was on tv and i saw it on my guide which made me think of this question. and when i thought about it i thought this movie was the first big movie he was in that he had a big role in. but what movie put him on the map?

it can't be clueless because though i remember him in that movie, it's such a vague memory because it's such a small role and not really an important role and also because i'm not even sure it was him that's how important the role was and how unimpressive his performance is. when i think of his role i think of a generic actor playing this role. like anyone could have played that role due to either the fact that it's not that good of a performance or that his role didn't require that much acting ability or maybe because it was such a small role?

reply

That was him in Clueless? I really didn't remember that!

reply

exactly i'm the same way, was that even him? i have such a vague memory of that role that it could have been anyone. talk about a generic role. also was that really brittany murphy? she didn't look anything like the brittany murphy in 2003.

If you watch Clueless again, I bet he's in it more than you remember. He didn't have a lot of long scenes, but he popped up quite a bit in the movie.

I'm not sure that really 'put him on the map' though, because it was a pretty unremarkable character.

exactly that didn't put him on the map but it probably was his first role of any importance in a big movie. that role was a pivotal role in clueless.

YOU ARE DEAD....WHICH IS COOL...BUT YOU ARE STILL WRONG...RIP.

Ant Man
I saw him in this is forty but paid most attention to Megan.

Clueless.

I thought it was "I Love You Man".
That was funny and not too over the top.

Clueless was definitely the film that brought him into the public eye, though as more of a teen idol/heartthrob figure. Wet Hot American Summer is probably the film that really established him as the Paul Rudd we think of today.

YOU NAILED IT.👍🏾

Sorry, I just assumed you meant movies that were for the rest of us, not for the mentally defective.
