Grande Viggo!

I enjoy watching people speaking in Rioplatense (Sub-Amazonian region of South America) Spanish, and Viggo made it an art. He is perhaps one of very few actors that can speak fluently more than one language. It's a damn shame that many of the tweeny actors and actresses of Latin American descent in the US did not learnt to speak their parents' language. Viggo being born from Scandinavian parents and living in Argentina for 9 years, it is incredible that he mastered and kept his Spanish and his accent intact thru his adulthood.

You mean America actors because it's normal for most people in Europe (barring the UK) to speak more than one language. It's not really that big an achievement if you are a non-native English speaker.

I am aware of this, I knew many people from Sweden that speak three or so languages, it is amazing. I was talking about former child stars born from Mexican or Latin American parents like Ariana Grande or Selena Gomez, they don't speak a word of Spanish. Of course, same can be said about most of American Hollywood stars that struggle to speak other than English. Americans in general also fail at geography.

The number of americans I see on imdb saying Columbia for Colombia blows my mind, but I even saw it on fb from a travel site. Doh! When I was in NYC a lovely waiter asked me where I was from. I said Australia. He said oh I really want to go to Israelia to work on a kibbutz. My husband is there for work at the moment. That's a 36 hour triple leg flight from here. You would think that in a city as intensely multicultural as NYC people would be a bit more informed, however, I found most people I chatted to there quite worldly.
