it's a well known fact that Sigourney auditioned and got casted as Ripley. Beecause is was better.

and Sigourney does have the movie-star look?

you act like if she didnt make the character a bad ass iconic character. As far as im concerned its the actress that made it famous not the character making her famous.

and yes back in the day she was considered a hottie. Thin, super tall, with a cute goddessique face.

 Why am I such a misfit? I am not just a nitwit. 

Sigourney is 5'11 and Cartwright is 5'5", Weaver is more believable as an action star fighting aliens. This is a big pet peeve of mine when casting women in action roles. Charlize can sell the brutality in Atomic blonde cause of her stature, but I don't buy Gadot as a warrior given such a waifish figure.

She had to have been cast, because she was believable as someone who could take down a huge vicious alien monster, and Cartwright wasn't!

Cartwright was always cast as gentle, vulnerable, or wussy characters, never the badass, and I just can't see her projecting the streak of badassery it'd take to pull off the role of Ripley. Weaver was perfect for the role, and not just because she's obviously a big strong capable gal, but because she comes across as so very intelligent, strong-willed, and capable of keeping her head under extreme pressure. I've never seen any of that from Cartwright.
