Can He Ever Revive His Career?

Despite being vindicated by a US jury?

Or will the intrinsic fear of actors, execs, producers and directors to working with anyone 'controversial' who might make them seem as if they're excusing DV, and the tyranny of the Twitter mob, make that a complete impossibility?

reply

it seems like everyone is on his side, the girl who pooped the bed is the one who's career is over...

reply

Wow, shit in one bed and you're forever known as the bed pooper.

reply

well its one thing to shit a bed when ur sick or something but she straight up did a scat crime out of spite lmfao. it is the premeditation that makes it so funny and fucked up 🤣

reply

I think his career was kind of tanking before the Amber Heard mess.

reply

I expect a full blown resurgence much like Robert Downy Jr experienced. Fact is you're better off being a wife beater than a jew hater in Hollywood.

reply

Both are abhorrent (and I believe Mel Gibson may be both), but the question isn't which is worse. The question is, did the person in question do the alleged act.

reply

I agree.

I was also going to say that Gibson may have been more of an asshole than an anti-Semite, but before I pushed the add button, I Googled some of the stuff he said.

He's clearly an asshole but but he is probably a Jew hater as well (I say probably because what people say holds much less weight in my opinion than what they do) judging by the sheer amount of stuff he's said over the years. A single slur could be more frustration and an attempt at targeting someone to hurt, but many slurs indicate so much more.

reply

I'm not sure Mel is so much as a Jew hater as is he is a hater of the elites who run Hollywood and much of the world, who just so happen to be Jewish.

reply

Fair enough.

reply

He's lambasted *Jews* NOT simply 'elites who run Hollywood', although that's such a toxic, albeit often erroneous, cliche, that most of all can infer what is meant by references to 'elites who run Hollywood.' He's been recorded as saying "Jews are responsible for all the wars."

I'm not some Gibson-hater. I'm personally always willing to forgive (although I respect why many Jews won't feel the same way), but I also believe in honesty, and attributing blame where it lies, and it's quite clear to me that Gibson is an anti-Semite, or at least has been, and surely when it comes to bigotry, words are akin to actions.

And, clearly there's something very problematic in suggesting 'Jews run the world.'

reply

Apparently not. He has no projects down the
pike.

reply

I think he's done as far as mainstream, major studio movies are concerned.

Depp having a mountain of evidence showing that he was falsely accused, not really a story that they want people being reminded of. Giving him a lead role in a major studio production would be an admission that they were wrong.
