More Canadian wildfire evacuations

Woke up this morning and the air is filled with smoke. Fort Mac in my province is already on evacuation alerts, and a few communities surrounding have been evacuated already. Fort Nelson in BC is being evacuated because of a fire that went underground over the winter and is already out of control. Sarcastic yay! Already have a headache from the smoke.

Stay safe big Sis!
The climate is going crazy all over the map of late.

reply

More? I haven't heard of any.

reply

It was a camp in BC last week. Probably didn't make the news.

reply

Did someone start the fire to push the climate change hoax? That seems to he pretty common among these wildfires now.

reply

Not that I think that this actually deserves a response, but most fires are started by humans. Not usually deliberately for some stupid conspiracy theory that you might have.

The real issue here is that we had a horrible wildfire season last year, and because of really mild winters that weren't that cold, with not a lot of snow, there were 52 underground wildfires in Alberta this winter that were still burning from last summer, and over 100 in BC. So regardless of what you think about climate change, we are seeing it here and feeling it.

reply

At this point it wouldn't surprise me if someone did start a fire to make a point about climate change.

reply

It wouldn't surprise me either honestly, but out of the almost 900 wildfires that we have had already in 2024 in Canada, I'm going to guess that most of them were not started to prove a point.

reply

There are advantages to living in areas that are not filled with natural beauty.

reply

OH NO....I HOPE EVERYTHING GOES AS WELL AS POSSIBLE WITH THAT AND YOU....SUCKS ABOUT THE HEADACHE...I'M SURE I WOULD HAVE ONE TOO...LOVE YOU.

reply

We occasionally get real bad smoke here in Reno from California wildfires. Not climate change but stupid, ignorant forest management policies. It's natural to let everything grow out and burn itself up, don't you know.

reply

Stay safe. Keep us updated.

reply

Very sorry to hear this. Stay safe! I hope Canada gets some big rainstorms soon!
