Why do some say being human or humane even is good and others proclaim badness comes FROM humanity?

Who is RIGHT here? Are humans buy nature good or faulty? Why do some state that being human, humane and human being means being good and others proclaim that the problem with humanity IS humanity and that their badness or flaws stem from the fact that their human beings rather than some or other, however big or medium, flaws?

And again, who is right or wrong here or is it just a matter of opinion?
