i mean tiktok its kinda stupid but in a harmless way most of the time its just people dancing to the camera. which is pretty stupid. but harmless

however. youtube is nothing but narcicistic idiots fighting with each other for clout, slander everywhere, channels who are nothing but propaganda, dick measuring contests everywhere.

and the funny thing is. even the most retarded and bigoted people that are getting banned everywhere will never get banned on youtube. no matter how toxic they are, as long as they are popular. youtube "hate speech" laws only exist if you are a nobody with no views. the channels that are popular are allowed to spread hate speech all over as much as they want.

as long as they are popular. and youtube is basically nothing but production companies who hire an actor to read scripts that they write for him. litterly none of the popular youtubers is really independent. its all production companies with entire teams of editors etc who abuse the platform to milk money. nobody who works alone and edit his own videos can succueed there long term

I have noticed that a lot of the thumbnails are AI generated clickbait, tabloid BS on YT.

You can choose to ignore those and try and find things that appeal to your sense of taste to watch.

Depends how you use it, I guess. I just watch music videos, interviews and tv/movies on YouTube and stay away from the comments. I love it, it’s a great service.

Yeah, same here. Music, documentaries, funny animals, comedy clips, nature and war stuff...I love YT and avoid all the nonsense.

UMAD, ladies and gentleman of the board, I don't think it's fair to call YouTube and TikTok shitholes.

Sure, the narcissism, spats and clickbait are a big problem for everybody. I was tricked into a cinnamon sniffing challenge once and had to sneeze the whole time.

But I don't blame YouTube and TikTok. Because one time, I turned into a dog and they helped me.

Your topic is about preferring tiktok. Get a better feed. If you don't like something, click the verticle "..." that appears and tell youtube you aren't interested in that channel. "Mainstream youtubers" is meaningless.

Thats the stuff you choose to watch .

As Kowalski says there is a lot of amazing content on youtube , so much so its steadily becoming a viable replacement for TV.
If you're watching KLF or Pewdipie or whatever the modern equivalents are - thats where you've gone wrong.
I'm not even gonna attempt to list any of the amazing subjects / channels because that would be just stuff i'm interested in , and that would be 1% of the amazing channels , there's something for everyone.

All the youtubers I subscibe to are professional , courteous and often collaborate with each other in joint videos.

Tiktok however , is a just a bunch of vapid idiots in 30 sec videos just dancing around, and as you say , pretty harmless
