what do you think of Twitter / X or whatever you want to call it, and Elon Musk

I have lots of thoughts on this. Elon seems to be ruining what he paid $44 billion for, and the only person who can't see it is him

99% of people seem to think twitter is being trashed, but he only listens to the 1% of people on his timeline that like it (Elon you're great, please give me money)

then after he's ruined something, he changes something for the worse to try and hide the fact he's ruining it (like removing text from links, so you're less likely to click on it and navigate away from twitter)

the "everything app" concept. it's in China, the West doesn't have a need for it (not to mention there are so many problems with current twitter, you'd be a bit lally to trust him with your money)

(those are some of the thoughts)

apologies to anyone I've put on ignore

Twitter was in dire need of a makeover in the sense if you're conservative, you couldn't post anything without it being deleted and ultimately you ended up being shadow banned for it and that simply needed to end.. You don't have to agree with one another on Politics, but censoring people who didn't fit their narrative was a stretch

I'm going to provide this pearl of wisdom for you: "Nobody screws up something this bad unless it's on purpose."

To be fair, Twatter has been trash from the beginning, and only got worse when Tumblr dumped its user trash on there in the early 2010s. After 2016 it turned into a vicious, cruel, left-wing echo chamber, courtesy of the owners being left-wing fanatics themselves. Plus the US govt. was in on it, secretly running twatter behind the scenes.

I actually was laughing when Elon took away the Left's banning hammer. Watching them all foam at the mouth and shit bricks after losing their precious clubhouse to a guy what wanted things to be a little fairer was icing on the cake after the shit they'd put a lot of people through for the past 7 years. It was particularly entertaining hearing about Elon firing the snotty, arrogant assholes who originally ran the company and leaving them without golden parachutes. It's no less than they deserve, to be honest.

I'm not a fan of Elon by any measure. The guy is not to be trusted and only in it for himself. He's part of the billionaire elite (or he was until he took their banning hammer away) and the only reason his EV cars sold at all was because idiots with more money than sense were buying them, not the middle and lower-class people in the west. His SpaceX has also not been as successful as he'd like, though they definitely got farther than NASA did with govt. grants.

There's a reason I have never used twatter for anything, nor have I ever used things like farcebook, instagram, or tiktok. Social media is a toxic waste of time.

Every where I go, I see people driving Tesla vehicles and they're not cheap folks.. They start at around $60K

reply

Where do you live? Where I live it's a ratio of 3 people driving EV's for every 20 people driving ordinary gasoline cars, and that's only because I live in an area of CA with middle-class people. There aren't any EV's among the lower classes, unless someone used dishonest means to get the money to buy one of those white elephants with wheels.

St.Louis MO.. I see them every day and they just opened a new dealership down the street from me.. I see alot of white & black Tesla's mostly

I'm still not buying one of those monstrosities. I'd rather have a house and a gas-burning car instead. I'd take a spaceship that runs on alien crystals, but they're not coming for another few hundred years.

I love twitter, but I'm very picky about what "subjects" I follow/who I follow. And I block the rest.
As for Elon, he's made it more user/community friendly.

it's not twitter, it's x ;) (according to Musk), and he was thinking about removing the block feature

I never had an account and never will.

Musk is an incompetent moron who's not only destroyed Twitter but also in the process managed to destroy his own ridiculous media-driven personality cult that made him out to be some kind of genius. All he is is an egomaniacal parasite who takes credit for the things actual intelligent people who work for him have done.
