There was a long list of talented actors and directors who never won an Oscar on Slate.com. Very sad. Hacksaw Ridge got an award too, I was hoping that jerk Mel Gibson would be shut out.
If you based your movie (TV too) watching on who weren't jerks, pedophiles, druggies, rapists, raving liberals/fundamentalists, etc., you might as well sell your television.

That's why Emma Stone won over Isabelle Huppert last night, and the reason actors of Edward Norton, Sam Rockwell, Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter's caliber continue to "fly under the radar" when the Sandra Bullocks of this industry get to walk away with an statuette.

Add Gary Oldman to that list - fantastically talented actor who is hugely underrated.
