Adele's voice annoys me, Fantasy is worthless, and I haven't heard HSC2 or So Beautiful or So What. Wasting Light is a great album, but my favorite of the eligibility period has been Linkin Park's A Thousand Suns.

I agree with Adele and Kanye West. I think Lady Gaga's Born this Way makes it. The other two, I don't know. Wasting Light doesn't deserve a mention.

I'd love to see Watch The Throne get one of the other spots but I doubt they'd nominate Kanye West twice.

The Grammys are just obsessed with Foo Fighters for whatever reason, though, and they seem to fit a good slot of a contemporary but still pretty seasoned rock band (and I think the Grammys, not unlike the Oscars, have certain slots one can distinguish between the different nominees in any given year). Same reason I'm not predicting Watch the Throne, though it's solid as hell, but I'm sure the album itself will get nomination love elsewhere.

I'm not sure about Born This Way. The reviews generally seem pretty tepid, compared to some other contenders on metacritic (where BTW has a 71): Adele's got a 76, Foo Fighters a 78, Beastie Boys an 83, Paul Simon an 85, and Kanye's monstrosity of a 94 score. I know that doesn't always matter but the closest to her review wise in my prediction would be Adele who has "Rolling in the Deep" to steamroll through the singular record awards (I think Adele would have a hard time winning the entire Album category). There's also these other contenders, like the yet unreleased Duets II by Tony Bennett which will feature Amy Winehouse's last recording or the Paper Airplane by Grammy fave Alisson Krauss which got decent reviews.

So I just don't know if there's the slot for her. They're absolutely obsessed with Paul Simon (he's got 13 Grammys) and Beastie Boys are sufficiently vetted with some of the best reviews of their career and sentiment for MCA having recorded this through cancer treatment.

Interesting trivia- the only two artists who've been nominated for Album of the Year every full decade of the Grammys are both named Paul (Simon and McCartney.) I didn't think So Beautiful or So What was as good as his earlier work, but I wouldn't mind having his streak of nominations go on a bit longer.

I'll be the first to admit that I didn't listen to a lot of albums that came out last year, but I have almost nothing negative to say about that album. Have you any comments, Wombiverse?

But I'm always wrong, amn't I?
