alfred hitchcock's " A Changing Heart "

Can someone please explain to me the ending of this story? Did it turn out that Lisa was a sick dying girl, and her Grandfather put a clock inside her to keep her alive, or was she a robot or android all along? I met Ann Helm and asked her, but she didn't seem to know either
