Classic all American heroes(?) - memories

We used to watch these on Saturday morning pictures over here in the UK, but they did appear on TV:

The East Side Kids aka The Bowery Boys.

I presume they must all be dead now (sorry to be so morbid) but does anyone have any memories, Stateside especially?

Sorry to reply late but I got called in for an eye operation and have only now been able to check my PC.

So, your reply............UH?

reply

Most Bowery Boys are dead. Sky Queen?

OK, I’ll buy it……..I heard nothing from pat-roberts2534 who posted “Sky King” and now you have posted “Sky Queen” so, double UH?

(Thank you for your reply, by the way)

I'll tell u who Sky King was, sort of. He was a modern cowboy guy who flew a prop airplane and solved crimes with the help of younger man and woman, tho' then she would have been called a girl. You can look it up on imdb if u want. The show was primarily aimed at kids on Saturday mornings. The remark about Sky Queen was meant to be ironic, sort of. I don't usually bother to do this much explaining, but I liked your honest answer. Maybe you can tell me about some of your kids shows across the pond. Cheery bye.

Thanks, TDF. I didn't realize Sky King needed to be explained.

reply

You'll have to bear with us and realise that over here in the UK, although we got a lot of American shows.......we didn't get everything, AND there are lot of people this side of the pond who frequent the IMDb.

And for TDF - there was very little produce for kids during that period.
(Sorry I didn't reply earlier)

No produce? Not too many veggies, then. I've seen a few kids shows from England over the years, the black and white ones, mostly as dreary as the ones over here. I must get cracking.
