Recreating Roy Scheider for final movie?

So Roy Scheider supposedly has a movie still coming out Iron Cross... maybe??

According to this article they are recreating a digital Roy to finish the movie. Using both a prosthetic face and cgi.

Is this still happening? Its been well over a year since his death but the movie is still in post. I watched the trailer and it looks seriously good. I really hope they finish it cause Roy deserves a strong finish.
But I also wonder how much they had to finish and if a digital Roy is enough to fill the shoes of an amazing performance.
