Future of The CW?

I feel like no one is talking about how The CW's 10 year license agreement with Tribune is almost up.. and what that might mean for the network. The CW is chugging along, ordering pilots etc, and while they've been doing significantly better over the past 3-4 seasons vs the first number of years, I wonder what will happen when it comes times to renegotiate? Look what happened to The WB when it's contract was up.

Though??

They renewed for another 5 years. Their license agreement with Tribune only affects some of the affiliates. Only 25% of WB affiliates are Tribune but that does include the big markets of New York and Los Angeles. WB became part of CW when WB and UPN merged into one network. CW isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I feel they will always be the number 5 network, always behind CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox but they are content with that. They aren't trying to beat the big networks, they are one of those major networks. Most people realize the W in CW stands for Warner Brothers. Not so many people realize the C in CW stands for CBS Corporation. Even Fox is content being number 4. The days of wanting to be number one are over if you are as new as CW. So long as they are profitable that's all they care about. CBS will remain the crown jewel, and CW is for the younger crowd.

I feel like the CW has turned into just super hero station, which is lame. I miss the older shows on it.

I get the Super Hero thing...and diz is spot on about CW. Both corp sites for CBS and WB have the same verbiage concerning 'their' portfolio/divisions. CW has options that aren't going away anytime soon. regards.mac((Frequency, Supernatural, & The 100 fan)

I think when the movies about superheroes fade so will the shows.
