Hello Talesfromthecryptfan,
Piranha and Halloween, of course, are among my 1978 favourites; further I would mention The Swarm - and here's one which is completely unknown in the U.S. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong):
Pod jezevci skalou - starring Tomas Holy, actor whom I like very much for his performances; though he wasn't (in my opinion) the cutest young actor from CS(S)R - that honour goes to Lukas Janota, but he had a certain vivacity and "freshness" in his acting which I always found very nice. Tragic that he had to die so early (car accident, at age 20 or 21)!

Trocadero Bleu Citron (starring Lionel Melet, Anne Duperrey, etc.) - had to wait a long, long time for that gem; now (since 2017, I think) it's out on DVD :-)
