I'm 38 and I can remember what my family drove when I was 5.That car was 1975 Dodge Dart.Since then we have owned these vehicles:
1982 Pontiac Bonneville(diesel)
1988 Buick Century

1999 Pontiac Grand Am(Mom bought this after Dad passed away)
2007 Pontiac Vibe(What's she's driving now)

My dad was a farmer and had various vehicles for use on the farm and to drive to his favorite hangouts.These vehicles were:

I don't think either of my parents owned a car when they lived in the UK, but after they came to Canada these were the family cars:

Datsun pickup with 1.2 liter engine
Toyota Tercel hatchback
Ford F100 pickup, 1971, styleside longbox with 302 and 4 speed manual.
Toyota Tercel wagon, 1986, still running, but rusty and burning oil.

Datsun 510 station wagon... still one of the best-looking cars ever, in my opinion.

What type of engine did you have in the F-100. Mine was a straight six with three on the tree. It was concidered a commercial vehicle when my grandfather bought it for deliveries for the grocery store that he owned.

I loved it, and miss it. Of course, we tend to fetishize our first cars.

Now I'm forgetting some because I have to jump to a 98 Buick, and then an 05 Lincoln Continental.
He told me a story about his first car, a 1931 Hupmobile. Rain used to get in through the windows or roof and my mother would ride in the car with an umbrella up.

Kind of like Chevy and GMC. In Canada you could buy your Ford pickup as a Mercury. Came across that years ago as a street rodder. Now that I live in Oregon I have seen one. They are occassionally for sale in local media.
