the Random Beer Purchase thread

If you've bought any interesting beer lately that you'd like to post about, here's the place to do it. Name the beer, the taste, style (ale or lager, stout, porter, etc.), the price, what you like about it, etc. Pics are welcome, too.

Today, I bought another bottle of an IPA that I really liked, called Gale Force India Pale Ale brewed by Scuttlebutt Brewery, Everett, Washington.

It was a 'bomber'-sized bottle (22 ounces), on sale for 3.99, regular price is 4.99. I'm gonna' grab a few more before it goes off sale. Very flavorful beer, nice density (fairly rich, but not heavy or syrupy).

I've become a huge fan of Westbrook's Gose. A traditional German beer that has all but died out, but has seen a resurgence lately. It's a sour brewed with sea salt and coriander.

Wow, that sounds like some interesting brew! I was surprised to see that it contains sea salt and coriander, since I didn't think the German beer purity laws allowed for anything other than water, barley and hops. I will have to look for this bier and try it!

It doesn't comply, but was given a pass since it's a regional specialty.

a little sumpin' wild--probably the best highest booze content beer i've tasted. almost 9%. hoptastic.

Lagunitas is a good brewery. They turn out some great beers.

I think I bought Westbrook for my husband as part of the 9-pack I recently bought for him for his birthday at World Market. I think I'll try that one now that I've read your comment.

You can build your own six pack for less than $2 a beer or purchase a prepacked 9-pack for around $13 of a variety of the same selection of their beers at World Market. They have the same beers you all have mentioned in this thread.

Please paint something cool today...Don't paint the sun anymore!

Ahah! You've sparked something in my memory.... I remember many years ago my parents bought me a "beers of the world" pack, much like the one you speak of, either for Christmas or for my birthday. I think they got it at Costco. Anybody here shop at Costco and know if they still sell those? It was a VERY NICE gift, BTW.
