The Revenant - Is it only me

I watched this movie a few days back and to be honest cannot see what all the fuss is about. I found it extremely slow what do you think?

Agree. It is plodding. With a runtime of 2:34mins could easily have been tightened up in editing. Several times during the movie, I noted that this was where most directors would have cut to another part of the scene to move the plot along.

Hi,
I saw The Revenant on the big screen, and I must say I liked it, especially the survival scenes and action. Maybe the movie was a little slow, but it was a great movie!

Then find your movie. If you're not a fan of movies that require patience and admiration then go see an explosive blockbuster or some crap apatow comedy.

The camera movement quickened the pace. I didn't find it slow. And if you opened a book once in your life and studied history you'd be familiar with the time period.

You say I don't see what the fuss is about. That's the issue. You're going into the movie expecting to be wowed. If you don't trust the majority. Then you will always be let down. You must broaden your horizon. Watch the film. Listen to the score. Appreciate the craft. And feel something.

I watched it twice. it was certainly uninteresting and not one of Leonardo DiCaprio's best. it was a 2 hours of 34 minutes. based on a true story that nobody knew who hugh glass was.

Wow, I was totally mesmerized and thought it was an excellent movie. I was talking about it for days!!!

Personally, I found it to be one of those films that's constantly engaging despite its length, but whether or not someone feels that way about a film comes with taste and preference. I can absolutely understand how it could feel dry and plodding.
